Senator Pizzo moved the following:

3 Between lines 325 and 326
4 insert:
5 Section 9. Paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section
6 448.095, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
7 448.095 Employment eligibility.—
8 (2) EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION.—
9 (b)1. A public agency shall use the E-Verify system to
10 verify a new employee’s employment eligibility as required under
11 paragraph (a).
12 2. Beginning on July 1, 2025 2023, a private employer with
13 25 or more employees shall use the E-Verify system to verify a
14 new employee’s employment eligibility as required under
15 paragraph (a).
16 3. Each employer required to use the E-Verify system under
17 this paragraph must certify on its first return each calendar
18 year to the tax service provider that it is in compliance with
19 this section when making contributions to or reimbursing the
20 state’s unemployment compensation or reemployment assistance
21 system. An employer that voluntarily uses the E-Verify system
22 may also make such a certification on its first return each
23 calendar year in order to document such use.

30 employers, rather than only those employing a
31 specified number or more of employees, use the E
32 Verify system to verify a new employee’s employment
33 eligibility beginning on a specified date; conforming
34 provisions to changes made by the act;
