    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to reapportionment; providing a short
    3         title; creating s. 11.032, F.S.; providing that
    4         congressional and state legislative district
    5         boundaries may be drawn only in the second year after
    6         the most recent federal decennial statewide census,
    7         during an extraordinary apportionment session or
    8         judicial reapportionment session, or according to
    9         federal law or court order; providing an effective
   10         date.
   11          
   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. This act may be cited as the “Voter Protection
   15  in Redistricting Act.”
   16         Section 2. Section 11.032, Florida Statutes, is created to
   17  read:
   18         11.032 Reapportionment.—Congressional district boundaries
   19  and state legislative district boundaries may be drawn only in
   20  the second year after the most recent federal decennial
   21  statewide census, during an extraordinary apportionment session
   22  or judicial reapportionment in accordance with s. 16, Art. III
   23  of the State Constitution, or according to federal law or court
   24  order.
   25         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2026.
