    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to waterbody designations; creating s.
    3         258.603, F.S.; designating the Andrew “Red” Harris
    4         Spoil Island; directing the Department of
    5         Environmental Protection to erect specified suitable
    6         markers; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Section 258.603, Florida Statutes, is created to
   11  read:
   12         258.603 Andrew “Red” Harris Spoil Island designated.—
   13         (1) SI3, a mangrove island adjacent to the Intracoastal
   14  Waterway within Jupiter Sound, is designated as the “Andrew
   15  ‘Red’ Harris Spoil Island.”
   16         (2) The Department of Environmental Protection is directed
   17  to erect suitable markers designating the “Andrew ‘Red’ Harris
   18  Spoil Island” as described in subsection (1).
   19         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2026.
