       Senator Gaetz moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 332 - 365
    4  and insert:
    5         (1) SCHOOL DISTRICT STABILIZATION.—To maintain the
    6  stability of the operations of public schools, including charter
    7  schools, in each school district, the department may use funds
    8  in either of the following ways:
    9         (a) To distribute to school districts if the state funds
   10  appropriated for the current operation of school districts in
   11  the Florida Education Finance Program are not sufficient to pay
   12  the state requirement in full pursuant to s. 1011.62(15).
   13         (b) To provide supplemental payments to school districts as
   14  needed. Any supplemental funds provided pursuant to this
   15  paragraph may not be added to the district’s total Florida
   16  Education Finance Program funds for any future calculation.
   17         (2) FAMILY EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.—To maintain
   18  scholarship award amounts, the department shall use funds as
   19  appropriated to ensure that funding is available if the number
   20  of full-time equivalent students enrolled in the scholarship
   21  program is greater than the amount appropriated in the General
   22  Appropriations Act in the educational scholarship categorical
   23  fund established under s. 1011.687.
