The Committee on Judiciary (Gaetz) recommended the following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete lines 445 - 449
4 and insert:
5 (d) The public school in which a personalized education
6 program student wishes to participate may assess an activity fee
7 to an eligible student pursuant to this section, provided that
8 such fee is uniformly applied within the school or district for
9 the activity and does not exceed the prorated per-student cost
10 to the school or district for the activity.
11 1. For purposes of this paragraph, the term “prorated per
12 student cost to the school or district for the activity” means
13 the school’s or district’s direct costs that are necessary to
14 provide the specific interscholastic or intrascholastic
15 extracurricular activity within the school or district, divided
16 by the number of students participating in that activity in the
17 school or district.
18 2. The school or district shall adopt a written policy
19 establishing the methodology for calculating such costs and
20 shall annually publish online the activity fee schedule and
21 supporting calculations for each activity.
22 3. The public school in which a homeschool student wishes
23 to participate may assess an eligible homeschool student only
24 the out-of-pocket costs paid by the public school student for
25 the interscholastic or intrascholastic extracurricular activity.
