Ileana Garcia Sworn In as Senator of Florida’s 37th District

Tallahassee —

Ileana Garcia (R-Miami) was today sworn into office as Senator of Florida’s 37th District. Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles T. Canady administered the oath during the 2020 Organization Session.

“It is my great honor to be elected to the Florida Senate by the people of District 37 and represent them here in Tallahassee,” Senator Garcia said. “I look forward to delivering on the promises I made to voters to rebuild Florida’s economy, fix the unemployment system, empower families with greater educational opportunities and school choice, fight to protect our environment, and improve Miami-Dade’s infrastructure.”

“My mission in the Florida Senate is to work diligently on behalf of the residents of District 37 and make the American Dream a possibility for every hard-working family in our community, just as it was for me,” continued Senator Garcia.

Senator Garcia grew up in Miami, Florida. She is the daughter of Cuban exiles and has one son, Victor Manuelle, Jr. This is Senator Garcia’s first term in the Florida Senate.
