GENERAL BILL by Health Care Appropriations Committee ; Health Care Regulation Policy Committee ; Hudson ; Thompson, N. ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Gaetz

Reorganization of the Department of Health; Revises mission & responsibilities of department; provides duties of State Surgeon General with respect to management of department; abolishes responsibility to regulate health practitioners effective July 1, 2011; abolishes specified divisions of department effective July 1, 2011, unless reviewed & reenacted by Legislature; authorizes the department to establish multicounty service areas for county health departments, etc.

Effective Date: 07/01/2010 except as otherwise provided
