SB 904: Controlled Substances

GENERAL BILL by Fasano

Controlled Substances; Providing that the management of pain in certain patients requires consultation with or referral to a psychiatrist, rather than a physiatrist; requiring that a pain-management clinic register with the Department of Health unless the clinic is wholly owned and operated by certain health care professionals, including a board-certified psychiatrist or rheumatologist; authorizing a pharmacist to fill a prescription for drugs or medicinal supplies which is transmitted or written by a physician, dentist, veterinarian, or other practitioner licensed to practice in another state under certain circumstances; requiring the pharmacist to obtain proof to a reasonable certainty of the validity of the prescription under certain circumstances, etc.
