The HIPPY program (Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngsters) began in 1992.HIPPY is a home-based program for the educational enrichment of preschool children and for the promotion of increased awareness by their parents of their own strength and potential as home educators.Participating in the program helps the children become more responsible, responsive and sucessful school students, and improves parental self-image and attitudes toward education.HIPPY concentrates its efforts on families at or below poverty level operating within the subsidized housing in Sarasota and DeSoto counties.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

95% of HIPPY graduates will demonstrate "school readiness" based on the test administered by the school district admission into kindergarden.95% of HIPPY graduates will remain at grade level through elementary school.90% of HIPPY graduates will not have a refferal for child abuse.
