Project Description:

This project represents the first phase of roadway improvements that are identified in the Brandon Main Street Community Plan.� The plan was completed in 2000 through a planning process that engaged community representatives and adopted in the Future Land Use Element of the County's Comprehensive Plan in June 2001.� It identifies a vision for enhanced civic identity through traditional neighborhood development and contruction of a main street corridor, Pauls Drive.� It recognizes Pauls Drive as an important connection between Brandon Boulevard (SR 60) and the future Brandon Parkway.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

This request would partially fund right-of-way acquistion for improvements to Pauls Drive as a main street corridor.� Development of a main street corridor in this location will capitalize on transportation improvements underway by the Expressway Authority, reinforce the qualities important to the community and bring new investment into the area in a controlled method.� The Brandon Main Street Project is included in the County's continuing program of community-based planning projects.
