Since the maximum contamination level for TTHM has been lowered by the EPA and the FDEP the city was forced to change our treatment process to meet the new standards.� Because of this change the color is very dark, sometimes yellow.� Even though it meets the standards except for color the residents do not have the comfort factor that they would with clear water.� As a result, residents are buying bottled water. It is a health issue with some of our residents. The State awarded a grant to the city that allows us to inject floride into the drinking water.� Since we have many LMI and Farm Workers it is important that these families drink the water which will reduce the necessity of dental work to the Health Dept.
