This section of the City has one of the highest residential zoning classifications and is heavily wooded with large HISTORIC GRANDFATHER OAK trees.� The City does not have the funds extend to sewer to this area. The low elevation and the state's requirement for septic tanks makes it necessary for a new home builder to remove many oaks or clear cut altogether.� Destroying the integrity of the neighborhoods and the historic nature of LaBelle.� This area is along the south bank of the Caloosahatchee River (intercoastal waterway) and septic tanks may increase the water quality degradation.

Project Description:

Install sanitary sewer in the NE quadrant of the City of LaBelle.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

Improve water quality in the Caloosahatchee River and keep ther serenity and historic quality of this residential area while maintaining the property values.� This will entice new residents to relocate to the City of LaBelle which will help remove us from the Governor's designation of Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern.
