The redevelopment and revitalization of a commercial area that is not serviced by water and sewer infrastructure.� This lack of vital infrastructure has caused the area to be in a state of decline to the point of slum and blight as defined in the Florida Statutes 163.� The eradication of such slum and blight will increase the viability of the commercial district thereby increasing sales tax revenues and other revenues to the State of Florida and Miami-Dade County.

Project Description:

The project is to perform the necessary tasks and research to analyze the area bounded by SW 168th St. on the North, US 1 and 97th Avenue on the West for a finding and declaration of necessity as to slum and blight.� This study would be used to support and further the process for a Redevelopment Tax Increment District in accordance with the Florida Statute 163.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

A study which documents the required finding and declarations of necessity as to slum and blight in order to form a tax increment district pursuant to Chapter 163 of the Florida Statutes.
