Project Description:

The Family Preservation program provides intensive in-home services to families that are at risk of emotional disturbance and currently placed in foster care or are at risk of removal from their home due to abuse and neglect. In-home services consist of individual and family therapy, parenting skills training, psychiatric consultation and community education on abuse and neglect. The public benefits from this type of service, as it is prevention based. The goals are to decrease childhood trauma, improve family functioning and to decrease the likelihood that children would be removed from their home due to abuse and neglect. This service also ensures that children in foster care would not be at risk upon reunification with their biological families.
