Project Description:

Child Protection Teams are funded and available for abused children but there are no funded Adult Protection Teams.� This request is for two pilot adult protection teams to be located in one urban and one rural area in Florida so that they may be available to adult protection investigators for gathering case evidence and planning for the provision of protective services to elderly and disabled adults who have been abused/neglected/exploited.� Services include assistance with on-site identification of abuse, neglect and exploitation, determination of the need for emergency services, death reviews, participation in training and educational programs and the evaluation of need for medical psychological and psychiatric care.� Multidisciplinary Adult Protection Teams will be established in concert with the University of Miami and Florida State University Medical Schools
