Project Description:

The Food Recovery Program receives surplus food from the federal government and from local farmers, stores the produce, and ships it to various distribution points around the state in cooperation with local charitable organizations.� The disabled, elderly, poor and working poor families are the recipients of the food.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

The distribution of 10 million pounds of fresh produce, 5 million pounds of USDA/TEFAP entitlement commodities to be distributed at no charge to recipients statewide.� In addition this project will begin creating a statewide network of distribution hubs that will enable us to reach more agencies at an exponential level of frequency and consistency throughout the State.
