Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This project will provide specialized vocational training for youth transitioning from foster care placement to independent living.Training will be based on the successful curricula for Youthbuild USA and the SuperLube vocational training program at Greenville Hills Academy.Youth enrolled in the project will acquire a GED if they have not completed high school.State funding will be used to purchase initial equipment and suppplies for the program.The recipient will provide curriculum, facilities and instructors as an in-kind match.Vocational instruction will be provided in basic carpentry, building trades and automotive mechanics.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Youth graduating from the project will have a high school diploma or GED, be placed in gainful employment and secure independent housing.Youth will not receive public assistance or be involved in the criminal justice system for one year after graduation.
