Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This project is for 75 beds for the St. Petersburg Bridge, Inc., a community-based therapeutic residential drug treatment program for DOC-referred offenders.The program is a staff controlled and monitored, peer driven environment that is six months in length.The typical offender is a substance abuser who has committed one or more drug-related, non- violent felonies.Offenders are referred to the non-secure program as a part of sentencing by a judge or are inmates diverted to the program by probation and parole officers.The program challenges criminalthinking and destructive behavior patterns, educates clients about the effects of chemical dependency and its underlying causes, teaches cleints to identify situations that trigger drug use, assists clients to develop relaps prevention plans and encourages sobriety through employment, education, AA/NA, church, etc.
