Project Description:
The Broward County Office of Environmental Services (BCOES) owns and operates the North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (NRWWTP) in Pompano Beach. The plant is an 80 mgd average daily flow facility, currently undergoing expansion to 100mgd. The NRWWTP is an actived sludge plant that serves approximately 600,000 people in northern Broward County. The treated effluent is discharged to an open ocean outfall, a deep injection well system, and a reclaimed water system. A 10 mgd filtration and disinfection facility produces reclaimed water meeting the criteria for Part III users as defined under F.C.C62-610. The reclaimed water is used in Coconut Creek for on-site irrigation and process water. This project is for the expansion of the reuse distribution system. The project will extend a 30" line west on Copans Road from the eastern City limits to Lyons Road, to a 24" line heading north on Lyons to Hillsboro Boulevard. The project will allow the City of Coconut Creek to connecft to the county's system. Both Broward County and the City of Coconut Creek have completed master planning which include this project. Broward County's Office of Environmental Services and the City of Coconut Creek will execute a "JointProject Agreement" in conjunction with this grant application.
