| Project Description: |
| Program SMART is an outcome based program that offers at-risk youth instruction on conflict resolution, peer management, goal setting, resisting gang involvement and violence and conflict resolution. The program brings students together in a positive and constructive environment to prevent them from becoming part of the juvenile justice system by promoting responsible behavior and citizenship. |

| Of youth participating in Program SMART:
-- 70% will have no reported contact with law enforcement within 6 months of completing the program;
-- 90% of all participants will gain and apply learned positive life skills, self-esteem building, healthy lifestyles and attitudes;
-- 40% will show increased academic performance;
-- 75% will participate in anti-drug, violence and acohol programs. |
