Project Description:
To complete the renovation of the One Art Community Center located at 4111 North Miami Avenue. The scope of work involves: all interior and exterior finishes, including facade work, replacement of windows and doors, as well as interior wall partitions, flooring, plumbing, electrical, roofing, cabinetry, upgrading bathrooms to meet ADA requirements, and classroom integrated equipment. One Art through the assistance of The Miami-Dade Office of Community and Economic Development was able to acquire a 5,000 sq. ft. building in order to expand and become the future home of the "Kids Off the Streets" Program - a year-round, ongoing program which provides "latch-key" and "at-risk" youth with free cultural and educational activities during the critical after-school hours.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
To enhance children's educational experiences through arts and education, the One Art Community Center will provide free workshops and classes in dance, drama, art, music, photography, and film-making. Along with playing a major role in the redevelopment of the Miami Arts and Design District and the Little Haiti community, the Center will provide its services to as many as 150 youngsters on a weekly basis, with as many as 3,000 children a year from all parts of Dade County visiting the facilities exhibits and participating in the art/educational workshops.
