Project Description:
The project is generally described as the initial phase of stormwater drainage improvements to the City of Aventura's Hospital District. This comprises approximately 76 acres and is located west of Biscayne Boulevard, between NE 214 Terr. and Ives Dairy Road. This area consists of both single family homes and industrial/commercial/medical developments. Specific facilities to be constructed include a 60'' drainage collector, which will connect to the City's existing stormwater collector system and serve as the primary stormwater drainage collector. The project will also include the installation of storm drainage manholes and maintenance of traffic. The 60'' RCP culvert will need to be installed under Biscayne Boulevard, a six-lane divided state road. Future improvements include secondary drainage facilites including culverts, catch basins, drainage wells, grading and restoration.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The proposed project will provide an effective drainage system, will reduce flooding and standing water, provide a primary stormwater drainage outfall - which will provide increased flood protection to the area and greatly improve the drainage in the area, and greatly reduce the health risks associated with the effects of flooding and septic tanks. In addition, the project will greatly reduce the potential for property damage resulting from flooding.
