Project Description: |
Our program has two goals for the 11 -15 year olds: To improve academic proficiency by one grade level and to improve school attendance and self-esteem by changing the participants' social values. For the 16 - 17 year olds, our program goal is to increae employability skills and find a job. The younger youths will receive three months of group guidance sessions and weekly tutoring. They will be pre and post tested to measure changes in attitudes. We will monitor report cards to measure change in grades and attendance. The older youths will be provided a minimum of three employability skills training sessions and will be pre and post tested to determine increase in skills. They will also receive weekly academic tutoring and job search assistance. |
