| Lake Thonotosassa is a Southwest Florida Water Management District SWIM-priority water body. The lake is the largest in Hillsborough County and discharges into the Hillsborough River, which is the primary drinking-water source of the City of Tampa. The Southwest Florida Water Management District has entered into partnership with Hillsborough County, the City of Plant City, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to reduce pollutant loading, improve flood control, and restore habitat related to Lake Thonotosassa. |

| Project Description: |
| Funds for this project will be used for ongoing Phase III activities of the Pemberton/Baker Creek Erosion Control Project, supplemental wetland restoration at the Thonotosassa Marsh Restoration Project, and establishing basin-specific water quality targets. Projects are designed to reduce contaminants from non-point sources prior to discharge into the lake. |
