| Project Description: |
| This organization works with grandparents and other family members who find themselves taking care of children because of traumatic events affecting the children's parents. With the services offered, this organization has kept many children out of the foster care and dependency court process.
Funding sought will enable Ms. Stripling to better handle the increasing number of people seeking help from her organization. It will allow her to get a small office and phones.
Ms. Stripling has run this organization from her apartment for the past 5 years. Through networking with other agencies and organizations dealing with this population, Ms. Stripling has provided information referral to get such necessities as payment of utility bills and rent, counseling, food and clothing resources. She also has a monthly support meeting of caregivers enabling them to better care for the children. There is also a Council that meets monthly to give input to resources available in the community.
This request is specifically for the reason mentioned above. The sponsor has no way of putting a value on the time, personal resources and donations of physical items and personal services that Ms. Atripling amasses |
