Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The primary objective of the project is to restore the water quality and overall ecological health of naples Bay. The Gordon River Basin Extension and the Gateway Triangle water management projects ahve outlined a range of structural and non-structural measures consisting of channel modification, stormwater retention areas, filter marshes, and exotic vegetation removal to control the flows and pollutant discharges. The retrofit of Golden Gate Weir No. 2 and I-75 Weir No. 1 will involve raising the levels of the existing crests and modification of the gates of the weirs to reduce overdrainage and introduce pulsated release of wet season discharges. These measures will lead to reduction of the loadings of priority pollutants like notrogen, TSS and phosphorous. |
