| The Rainbow River Preservation Project is a Southwest Florida Water Management District Project and a SWIM priorty water body. The river is a spring fed tributary of the Withlacoochee River, which has been named an Outstanding Florida Waterway. The river is experiencing increases in the biomass of undesirable aquatic plants, groundwater pollutant loading and surface water pollutant loading due to septic systems. |
