Project Description: |
To enhance drainage within the Parson's Brook-Byster Lake Watershed located along the city-county border. This socio-economically depressed area experiences frequent flooding. The target area of improvement is located in the local enterprise zone and the Good Neighbor Trailhead Complex, which is the focal point of the city's adopted revitalization plan. Based on the economic successes of other trails in the state and nation, the Good Neighbor Trail complex is envisioned to become the economic, historic, culural and recreational hub of not just the County Seat, but all of Hernando County, and play an integral role in the Florida Trail Network. Improved area drainage will enhance the area's health, safety and welfare. It will also attract new and expanded enterprise and create a functional and appealing setting for businesses and tourists alike. To enhance the health, safety and welfare of those that reside, work and visit Brooksville and to foster socio-economic renewal of the county seat, its historic district and the local enterprise zone.Target area includes the county courthouse, historic district,The Good Neighbor Trailhead Complex and key portions of the county's enterprise zone. |
