Project Description:
The Club House model is a nationally and internationally recognized approach to providing vocational and housing services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. It relies primarily upon a stringent accreditation process and the intense commitment of the participants to achieve success. The Duval location would serve approximately 500 persons on an annual basis. The funding would be contracted through SAMH (DCF) to Consumer Support Services, Inc. - an agency founded and run by mental health consumers. The role of mental health professionals in this model is to provide technical support and advice as requested or required. It should be noted that this model is cited in both the President's New Freedom Report and SAMHSA (Federal level) as a best \ evidence based practice and consistent with moving the system towards a Recovery based philosophy.
