| Project Description: |
| This program is in six high schools in Duval County. This program is to educate 11th and 12th grade students about breast cancer, encourage monthly breast examinations, and teach young women to be responsible for their own breast health. Through workshops students will receive accurate facts explaining breast cancer risk factors, early detection methods, including clinical exams and monthly breast self-exams; treatment options; and support information for breast cancer survivers and their family. |

| The objectives of the program are: 1) By February 2006, to increase the number of teen women in Duval County planning to conduct monthly breast self-exams starting at the age 20 as measured by pre and post test surveys; 2) By February 6, 2006, to increase knowledge of breast cancer risk factors and early detection methods among teen women in Duval County as measured by pre and post test surveys; 3) To increase early detection and treatment of breast cancer; and 4) To use as a state model. |
