Project Description:
This project will provide funding for the acquisition of right-of-way and the reconstruction of the portion of Mahan Drive (us 90 East) from Dempsey Mayo Road to Interstate 10. The project will expand the number of lanes from two to four, as well as provide bike lanes and sidewalks.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Mahan Drive is a major commuter route. The widening of Mahan will help meet the anticipated traffic load for the east side of Leon County for the next 20 years. This is a regional roadway serving Jefferson and Leon Counties. 41% of the number of people who live in Jefferson and are working, work in Leon and use Mahan Drive to get to work. This project will benefit regional travel and commerce. Additionally, Mahan Drive is the main artery to and from the city of Tallahassee for evacuations to I-10.
