Project Description:
Community Builders HDC will utilize the respective funds to administer a pilot economic development, job creation and community/cultural and commercial economic revitalization initiative publicly announced by former Miami- Dade Commission Chair Dr. Barbara Carey- Shuler and City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz. Community Builders in association with KDI/ Architecture, Inc. will plan, program, manage and organize 200 area businesses within a ethnically themed 43 block cultural tourism, international trade, retail and entertainment demonstration area. The initiative will create new jobs and training opportunities for community residents, improve and expand building facades with a unifying cultural theme, create business expansion opportunities and attract future development and businesses to the 7th Avenue commercial corridor.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Organize and facilitate facade improvements and business expansion, from concept to completion, provide skills training and technical assistance for 200 area businesses along NW 7th Avenue. Attract new business development and businesses to the 7th Avenue corridor. Create 200 new job and training opportunities for community residents. Create, construct and program a central community gathering space to be called "Osun's Plaza" for area residents
