Project Description:
The Town of Hypoluxo is located on the Intracoastal Waterways and directly impacts the Lake Worth Lagoon. While most of the Town residents east of U.S. Highway #1 utilize community sewers, 28 lots remain with only septic tanks. Many of these tanks are at least 50 years old and a number of them are located within 10 feet of the water. It is the goal of the Town to bring these residential sites into the sewer system provided by the City of Boynton Beach. By removing the aging tanks, this transition will decrease the pollution levels of the lagoon and in addition mitigate the potential for greater problems associated with septic tank use.

The removal of the aging and unsafe septic tanks will allow the entire Town of Hypoluxo to process wastewater through an integrated system appropriated by the City of Boynton Beach.
