Project Description:
The Florida Aquarium will serve as a delivery mechanism for current science content to bridge the gap between scientists and educators. The Aquarium will offer three or more professional development workshops correlated with FCAT Benchmarks to every Florida county through 10 strategically identified regions, up to 30 teachers per workshop. The Aquarium intends to expand the statewide educational reach or programming to over 1,000 teachers.

Approximately 1,000 Florida science teachers will participate in professional development workshops on marine science and environmental issues. There will be a measurable increase in their knowledge of content and related teaching strategies as determined by pre and post testing.
