This transportation improvement project is of statewide interest by alleviating traffic congestion on the only major roadway entering the Capital City via a two-lane highway. Tourist and commercial traffic will benefit by reduced congestion.

Project Description:
Construction of a central roadway within Wakulla County will reduce traffic on U S Highway 319. Tourist traffic and commercial hauling within a regional model will benefit from the additional route which will assist in reducing traffic on a congested roadway.

Expansion of the new connection will reduce congestion on U S Highway 319 which will benefit economic development in a critical area. Improvements will be seen with improved evacuation routes and efficient use of existing routes with improvements.
