Project Description: |
PACE is an effective and efficient mechanism for the delivery of services designed to keep frail elders at home, the place they want to be. PACE programs coordinate the care of each participant enrolled and provides all needed preventative, primary, acute and long-term care services so that its participants can continue living in the community. PACE programs saved Medicaid dollars. PACE must be expanded. PACE is Florida's only Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and is sponsorded by Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged in Miami. |

Is this a project related to a federal or state declared disaster? |
No |
|
Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The 2004-2005 fiscal year was one of significant growth for Florida PACE Centers. PACE has demonstrated that it can both attract individuals who will select PACE as a organized provider of care and that PACE program is capable of managing their needs. However, it needs to be realized that further growth in the PACE program is significantly limited by the available physical plant and, for the State of Florida to embrace PACE as part of a meaningful solution to its "long term crisis," we need to demonstrate that PACE can and must be expanded beyond a single location. |
