Statewide Interest:
The NORC project has statewide interest as it provides services to at-risk elders living in their own home and ensures that seniors age in place in the home of their choice while reducing the cost of services that are more costly if provided in long term facilities.Providing services such as, Elder Stakeholder Councils, community education and crisis intervention empowers communities to assist with early detection and remediation of elder challenges that may result in neglect or exploitation and greater use of high cost supports, services and institutional care. The program enhances the well-being of elders and their loved ones in cost effective fashion while reducing reliance on high cost services thus aligning FS 216.015(2)

Project Description:
The right of Floridians to age in the Communities of their choice in the least restrictive enironment. The right to live without fear of abuse, neglect, or any other crimes.The right live with dignity and respect.The right to contribute talent, experience or economic strenght to a community that fosters elder's quality of life, safety and independence both at home and throughout the community.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
There will be an increase of engagement in activities outside of the home by at least one external activity a week. An increase of personal interaction with neighbors by phone or in person 2X's a week. Individuals will remain in their home by assessing that 50% of identified seniors will age in place. 100% of seniors in the program will be linked to the community and senior resources should there be a need. 80% attending education programs will exhibit increased knowledge as to services and senior need.
