| Project Description: |
| This project will provide funding for the purchase of the necessary equipment to increase the City's capacity to mitigate the effects of catastrophic events, including hurricanes. The 2005 hurricane season exposed the areas of greatest impact of such events on the City resulting in the City's recognition of inadequate mitigation and recovery infrastructure. |

| Generators purchased with these funds will allow the City to continue providing essential, community services during the loss of electrical power. These funds will enable the City to purchase radios, other communications equipment, portable traffic lights, other road equipment and hurricane shutters for City government buildings. These funds will also be used to increase the City's fuel capacity. |
