DACCO provides Alternatives to Incarceration for non-violent substance abusers that would take costly space in our local jails and prisons. While in six-month Residential treatment, using a modified therapeutic community model, clients are provided treatment, GED, return to work, and Aftercare. The cost for a day in jail is $75.00. DACCO provides treatment and supervision for $45.00/day, a savings of $20.00 each day, saving $266,000 of incarceration funding.

Project Description:
Provide continued funding of DACCO's residential beds. The requested amount would fund up to approximately 65 clients in treatment during the year for a six-month residential treatment program. Additional funds for transitional living at $25/day as clients complete six months of Aftercare while living in a Transitional Living setting with supervision to make a successful transition to community living.
