Project Description:
Construction of large regional wet detention stormwater treatment facility to provide water quality treatment to a portion of the Lake Jackson Watershed that was developed prior to adoption of comprehensive stormwater managment regulations.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
This project will address long standing stormwater quality and roadway flooding problems in the Fords Arm Lexington Branch Lake Jackson. The outcome of the project is the overall reduction in the nutrient and sedimentloads reaching Lake Jackson along with enhanced roadways safety during adverse weather conditions. It continues the restoration of Lake Jackson, a State designated Outstanding Florida Waterway. In 1999/2000 a restoration effort was initated that resulted in the removal and disposal of approximately 2,000,000 cubic yards of accumalted nutrient rich bottom sediments.
