There is a documented shortage of licensed, foster care homes. The Family Safety Program Office of the Department of Children and Families has voiced the need for a centralized, statewide foster care recruitment hotline; and, has asked Daniel through its 1-800-96-ADOPT line, to pursue the operation of the State's Hotline.

Project Description:
Funds for this project will provide a statewide, centralized phone line for citizens to call and receive information about becoming a foster parent. Under the auspices of Daniel Memorial, Inc., this statewide telephone line will be managed, staffed and monitored on a full-time basis. It will provide the needed and stable link between current and prospective foster care parents serving the most needy among Florida's children.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
1. 98% of all callers will be referred in an appropriate and timely manner to their local Community Based Care service provider. 2. 95% of prospective callers that respond to a written satisfaction survey will identify the service as "Extremey Helpful" or "Very Helpful". 3. 100% of demographic data collected on prospective foster parents will be accurate.
