| Due to Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma, many of the County's current inventory of 74,178 trees sustained considerable structural damage and are considered effectively destroyed. Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation alone lost an estimated 11,500 trees due to the 2005 hurricane season. Appropiation will provide for the abilty to replace trees taht were destroyed. |
