Since 2001, the City has documented 27,000,000 gallons of exfiltration per year during dry season and 90,000,000 gallons per year of infiltration during the wet season. An 800,000 gallon discharge of contaminated water toward the lake was reported to FDEP in 2003. The project will substantially reduce these discharges and their contaminants, but modeling has not been conducted to quantify specific pollutant load reductions.
