Project Description:
This is an annual project to dredge canals throughout the City. The City has over 26 miles of navigable canals and 5 tidal lakes. Preliminary bathymetric surveys of all City owned canals indicates that approximately 20% of the canals have shoaled areas that impair navigation. This program includes mechanically dredging impaired canals to a minimum depth of 5 feet at Mean Low Water. The dreding occurs only in the center 40 feet of the canal, which is the area shared by all boaters using the canal.
