Statewide Interest:
This request is statewide in scope and serves the interests of retaining and supporting a broad, rich curriculum for Florida elementary students by measuring and evaluating student achievement in music education in grade four. As there is a strong relationship between the music curriculum and student success in other curricular areas, it is of benefit to Florida students that music programs are demonstrated to be meeting the Sunshine State Standards and appropriate Grade Level Expectations.

Project Description:
Administer the Grade 4 Music Assessment to approximately 1/3 of the state's grade 4 students to establish in order to set grading goals and standards for future administrations which may be used as bonuses for school grades.
