| Project Description: |
| Expose students to the inner workings of the civics process by allowing them to participate year round in hands on activities that develop thier understanding of government and concepts of democracy. Allowing for participation in the civics process by selecting an area of interest from the legislative, executive, and judicial programs and assuming their role throughout the school year and during the Annual State Assembly. |

| Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
| To further develop the program and increase student access and participation. The program currently thrives in more than 12 counties across the state, programs will be started in 3 additional counties each year. Focus will also be put on attracting and reaching out to each of Florida's population assuring that Florida Youth in Government is truly representative of the state's citizenship. Survey of former Youth in Government participants show that alumni are 30% more likely to vote in an election; 26% more likely to work with others on a community issue; 17% more likely to volunteer on a campaign; 14% more likely to contact an elected official. |
