| In June 2005, JetBlue Airways built a comprehensive training facility for all pilots, flight crew, customer service and maintenance personnel at Orlando International Airport. The facility has an annual economic impact in the State of Florida of over 56 million dollars and will create over 400 new jobs. In addition, JetBlue has entered into a lease with GOAA to construct a support facility adjacent to the University that would house most of the employees while they attend "JetBlue U." The facility will have 350-400 rooms and cost approximately 20 million to build and create an additional 186 new jobs. After a period of 30 years, ownership of the building will revert back to the Authority. An access road, utilities and storm water infrastructure needs to be constructed and extended adjacent to the proposed site from an existing roadway system. |
