This project will augment the wastewater/reuse system, thus optimizing the use of stormwater treatment and reuse thereby reducing discharge. This project is consistent with regional priorities by: � Providing effective and efficient local water management � Helps to meet future water needs � Reduces demands on the aquifer � Enhances regionalization of resources by providing back up to regional WWTP for reuse � Reduces discharges In addition, this approach of utilizing stormwater reuse and filtration systems in the western portion of the City and reusing it further to the east via the reclaimed water transmission/distribution system is consistent with the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan and Lower East Coast Water Supply Plan.

Project Description:

Describe how it will reduce loadings, identify anticipated load reductions for total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and other contaminants, and specify the practices that will be used to reduce loadings:
Provides an additional source for alternative water supply via stormwater reuse. Improves the stormwater management system on the west side of the City of Miramar. Reduces pollutant loadings into the Everglades and canal systems associated therewith. Provides back-up and augmentation to the reclaimed water reuse system improving the reliability of the reclaimed water system. Utilizes the existing stormwater reuse/distribution system to better manage water resources in an east-west fashion across the linearly configured City.
