Project Description:
The College has been actively pursuing the acquisition of certain key properties that are consistent with the College's current master plan. Based on appraisal information that has come to our attention subsequent to the submittal of our capital project request on August 1, we have determined that if we were to receive $1,400,000 in land acquistion funds in FY 2006-07 to augment land acquisition funds currently on hand, we would be able to close on a critical piece of property at the intersection of US41 and University Parkway plus three parcels of property on 58th Street. At the NCF Board of Trustees meeting on September 24, 2005, the College's administration was authorized to prepare an updated capital request aimed at revising funding and priorities to expedite the land purchases while the costs are reasonably affordable.

Is this a project related to a federal or state declared disaster? No

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Acquisition of currently available property at the intersection of US41 and University Parkway plus three parcels of propert on 58th Street now is a major step towards completing the College's land acquisition goals consistent with the Campus Master Plan. Expediting the acquisition now will be much more cost effective than pursuing purchase of the properties in later years.
