Project Description:
Initial planning and engineering study related to future transportation and infrastructure needs of the International Speedway Blvd. corridor in Daytona Beach. Thousands of jobs have been created by institutions and businesses located on this corridor. Organizations such as Bethune Cookman University, University of Central Florida, Daytona Beach College, new Florida State Medical School, Halifax Hospital, Mainland High School, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona International Airport, Daytona International Speedway, the New Daytona Live! Project, the Volusia Mall, nearby industrial park areas, plus rapidly growing retail development represent unlimited future economic opportunity. This study will identify future transportation needs and opportunities for safe movement and transport of people during times of high volume foot traffic during races and other events, therefore enhancing public safety.

Identifying future infrastructure needs that will allow continued expansion of the vital economic generator is critically important to our regional economy and identify alternative transportation methods to enhance public safety.
